KF Training Collective: Sept and Oct 2026
KF Training Collective: Sept and Oct 2026
KF Training Collective
A 2-month training space, both online and in-person, designed to bridge the gap between understanding movement and having it truly available in your dancing.
The Labs give us time to slow down, investigate concepts, ask questions, and build understanding. But understanding something doesn’t automatically mean our bodies are ready to execute it consistently.
That’s where the Collective comes in.
Over eight weeks, we’ll train the physical capacity, organization, coordination, and repetition that allow those concepts to become increasingly accessible in your dancing, and then practice integrating them into actual movement and music.
Because it’s not just about knowing what to do. It’s about building a body that can access it, organize it, and use it when you dance.
Structure
Wednesdays · 7:30–9:30PM · 8 weeks
Sept 9th, 16th, 23rd
Sept 29th **Note this is a Tuesday
Oct 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
Sept 29th is the ONLY session that isn’t on a Wednesday.
Training
Each 2-hour session will move through several layers of training:
Warm-up + Capacity Building
Targeted exercises designed specifically for the physical demands of salsa. We’ll build the strength, control, range, stability, and endurance our bodies need to support the movement we’re asking of them.
Organization + Coordination
Through barre work and repeated movement patterns, we’ll give the body time to organize movement without the additional demands of choreography. Repetition allows us to strengthen coordination, refine patterns, and make new movement options increasingly accessible.
Movement + Across the Floor
We’ll begin taking those patterns into space, working with weight transfer, direction, timing, transitions, and movement while continuing to build consistency and control.
Integration Through Choreography
We’ll work with one primary combination throughout the Collective, allowing us to revisit the same material week after week instead of constantly starting over with new choreography.
The combination will be sent approximately one week before the Collective begins so everyone can learn the sequence in advance and arrive ready to train it rather than spending our training time memorizing choreography.
The combination may evolve or grow throughout the eight weeks depending on the needs and progress of the group.
This repeated material becomes our space for integration: taking the capacity, organization, coordination, and concepts we’ve been developing and learning to access them inside actual dancing, with music, timing, transitions, and increasing complexity.
Final Video Project
At the end of the Collective, we’ll bring the work together in a filmed video project. This gives us something concrete to work toward while still keeping the focus of the Collective on the training process rather than performance.
The recording will take place shortly after our final training session. The date and time will be coordinated with the group and shared in advance.
This is not a drop-in class, it’s a continuous training process.
We’ll work together over eight weeks, building from one session to the next. The Collective carries the feeling of a team: training consistently, supporting one another, growing together, and creating the repetition necessary for real change.
The goal isn’t to do something once and move on. It’s to give your body enough time, information, and repetition for new possibilities to become available to you when you actually dance.:
Training Online
The online experience is designed to keep you connected to the training process throughout the eight weeks, not simply to give you access to recordings.
Along with the weekly training material, we’ll continue using additional ways to support accountability, connection, feedback, and consistency throughout the Collective, including online check-ins and opportunities to connect with other participants.
I know training online requires a different kind of support, so I continue to refine this part of the experience with every program to make it easier to stay engaged and actually apply the work from wherever you are.

Who Can Join?
The Collective is designed for dancers who have completed Lab 1: From the Ground Up and/or the KF Turns Lab.
If you’ve completed the Turns Lab but not Lab 1, you’re welcome to join this round. There may be some foundational concepts and language from Lab 1 that are new to you, but the Turns Lab gives you enough shared framework to participate in the Collective successfully.
If you’ve participated in previous Bootcamps, other KF training, or classes with me but have not completed either Lab 1 or the Turns Lab, you will need to complete Lab 1 before joining the Collective.
Lab 1 is still available online, so if you’d like to join the Collective, you can complete the material independently before the program begins.
Important Note: If you’ve taken Lab 2 or participated in Bootcamps but have not completed Lab 1, you’re still welcome, but you’ll need to go through the Lab 1 material before the collective begins. The recordings are available, so this is still possible. If that’s you, feel free to email me and I’ll guide you through it.
Limited spots available in-person.
This collective will only run if minimum participation is met
Video Access
The Collective is designed to be followed week by week, whether you’re training with us in person or online.
For online participants, the weekly videos are the primary training material, allowing you to follow the same progression and training process from wherever you are.
For **in-person participants, the videos provide an additional opportunity to revisit the material, practice between sessions, and continue building consistency throughout the week.
Because the Collective is designed as an ongoing training process rather than a permanent video library, the recordings are meant to be actively used throughout the eight weeks. Videos will remain available until one week after the final training video is released and will then be taken down.
